The stainless steel tube is a steel tube which is made stainless by the proportion of chromium which enters into its composition. Authorized for drinking water networks, the stainless steel tube can also be used for the evacuation of gases and smoke, or even for the design of structures, furniture, handrails... In the family of steel tubes, the stainless steel tube is made of competition with the galvanized steel tube.
Stainless steel is presented in three main variants which define its destination:
- The rigid stainless steel tube is a tube reinforced with an additional layer of chrome which enables it to withstand the most aggressive environments, in particular saline environments.
- The flexible stainless steel tube : thanks to its higher nickel content, the flexible stainless steel tube can deform without breaking. It is ideal for creating a hydraulic network.
- The stainless steel tube for the flue system : it can be flexible or rigid depending on the needs and is used to evacuate the fumes. It is chosen with a different diameter depending on whether it is a chimney casing, the extraction of fumes from a boiler or even a ventilation duct.
